Who We Are

Nimble Fingers Quilt Guild was begun in 1974 by Fay Goldey who invited a few friends to her home to quilt.  Now with over 130 members, we celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2014 with a Crazy Quilt Challenge and a celebration that featured all members showing their first and last quilts.

The monthly meeting features a lecture by a guest speaker or other educational program, a show of members’ work, a short business session, and a luncheon.  (There is a small cost when deli sandwiches are served; otherwise the luncheons are provided by members.)   Workshops presented by the guest speakers are usually held the day(s) following the meeting.

Community service is a priority and our guild sponsors several service projects such as making quilts for the National Center for Families and Children, the Betty Anne Krahnke Center, and for families moving into Habitat for Humanity homes in Montgomery County.  Many of our members also make children’s pillowcases for the ConKerr Cancer project.

Membership is open to all interested persons upon payment of annual dues.  In addition to the guild meeting, members receive a monthly newsletter, can participate in service projects (see Quilting 4 Others), borrow books from the Nimble Fingers library (see Library) and participate in the Quilt Show (see Quilt Show).  If you are interested in joining Nimble Fingers, we invite you to attend a meeting, as our guest, before deciding.
