The Nimble Fingers Quilters, Inc. is an active, diverse group of dedicated quilters who come together to promote the study, practice and sharing of quilting arts. Our work ranges from traditional hand-pieced, hand-quilted bed quilts to machine-pieced, machine-quilted contemporary art quilts. Our skills range from experienced masters to enthusiastic beginners.
Kristin Schenning from the Maryland Historical Society will tell us about an effort to recreate the Star-Spangled Banner for the flags 200th anniversary in 2014. Just for fun, wear red, white and blue for this meeting.
A written policy for weather related emergencies is being discussed by the board and will be brought up for a vote. In the meantime, check your email for any weather related closings.
Congratulations to Nimble Fingers member, Al Feldman, whose “Roman Falls” quilt appears in the February 2015 issue of Quilting Arts Magazine. His 9” by 12” wholecloth quilt depicts a waterfall with the arches of a Roman aqueduct. It is featured in the “Favorite Things” Reader Challenge article on page 43 of the magazine.
