Who We Are
Nimble Fingers Quilters is a lively group of dedicated quilters who meet regularly to learn about the craft, share in a community, and use our skills to serve others. Founded by 16 women in 1974, Nimble Fingers just celebrated its 50th anniversary with more than 100 members. Our members work the entire range of traditional and modern quilt styles, including art quilts and other needle arts. Our skills range from enthusiastic beginner to experienced master.
Regular guild meetings are at 10 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month, from September through June, unless the first Wednesday is a federal holiday. Most meetings are hybrid, that is, in-person and virtual. January and February are exceptions and are virtual only. Our meetings begin with guild business, followed by an inspiring, informative lecture, and a show & tell of members' work.
Other guild activities provide additional opportunities to learn, contribute, and socialize, including sit-and-sew days, workshops, retreats, and Quilting 4 Others.
Our in-person events take place at the Izaak Walton League of America, Rockville Chapter (IWLAR), located at 18301 Waring Station Road, Germantown, MD 20874. This location is handicapped accessible and offers plenty of parking. (If you do a map search, be sure to get the IWLA chapter on Waring Station Road, not one of the other chapters in our area.)
Details about all the meetings and other events can be found on our Calendar.
We invite you to attend a meeting as our guest. Please email [email protected] to RSVP.
We would love to have you join us! See Membership to find out about member benefits and how to get started.
