Nimble Fingers Quilters is proud to join the Quilt Alliance, an organization dedicated to documenting, preserving, and sharing the history of quilts and their makers. The Quilt Alliance sponsors oral history and documentation projects, education and training, public engagement, and outreach.
Members of Nimble Fingers have access to the various programs and resources offered by the Quilt Alliance. The Alliance programs for documenting quilts are especially relevant to our members.
Go Tell It! is a video documentation project designed to preserve the stories of quilts as told by their makers or owners. One person, one quilt, one camera, three minutes. Once or twice each year, Nimble Fingers will provide facilities for members to record Go Tell It! Videos.
Quilters’ Save Our Stories (QSOS) is a grassroots oral history project to preserve the stories of today’s quiltmakers in the United States and around the world. This collection of oral histories is archived at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress and the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History at the University of Kentucky.
