Our quilt challenge this year addresses the backlog of unquilted quilt tops. Kathy doesn’t have an exact count yet, but there are more than 100 tops that need to be quilted, so they can then be bound, labeled, and delivered. We want those tops to find forever homes!
Here’s how the challenge works: Pick up a quilt top kit at one of the meetings (or arrange to get one from Kathy Torg). Your kit will come with an index card (hang on to that). When you return the quilted top, your name will be entered into the prize drawing. You’ll get one, two or three entries depending on the size of the quilt you take. Drawings for gift cards will take place at the March meeting and the June meeting.
Fine print: Finished quilts are always welcome, but only quilts from the backlog will be eligible for the prize drawings. Quilt tops must be quilted, but you don’t need to do binding or labelling.
At the October Q4O event, Kathy brought 50 quilt kits, and 32 were adopted by members. She brought more quilt kits to the November and December meetings. If you want a kit to work on during the depths of winter, contact Kathy by phone or text at 203-257-3777.
