Service projects are central to the mission of Nimble Fingers Quilters. Each year, our members contribute hundreds of hours to make quilts, pillowcases, and other items that are distributed to hospitals, shelters, senior care facilities, and more. During the 2023-24 guild year, Nimble Fingers donated 203 quilts, 12 sensory mats, and 174 pillowcases to 10 organizations. We received lovely thank you letters acknowledging the donations.
Volunteers work on projects of all sizes, from baby quilts to bed quilts. Some members donate completed quilts, but other just do one piece of the process: cutting projects and backing from donated fabric, piecing quilt tops, quilt-stitching, and binding. Our Q4O committee has kits available for members to do all or part of the process.
